People always comment about how unique the Kettle Chai kit packaging is. It is rustic, uses minimal plastic and most of it can be re-used once you consume the 15 cups of amazing chai that it packages. (very quickly I might add :), given our re-order rate!)
Sustainability and reusability were two of the foremost factors on our mind when we started designing the packaging for the kit. In a world driven by looks and an industry driven by razor-thin margins we had to make a conscious choice to go with more expensive packaging that was not made of plastic. We wanted to share a chai experience without the guilt of filling up more landfills.
Our shipping packages do use bubble wrap but that is one area where we haven't been able to find sustainable shipping material that can also make its way through tornadoes and rain unscathed! (This is the true story of how our shipping package passed through a South Carolina rainstorm unscathed). We will keep looking!
